It’s coming: March Hyde Madness!!

Bugs HydeSo, Vince Rotolo and the gang over at the B-Movie Podcast opened up a can of worms. After they announced they were reviewing the 1931 version of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, it inspired me. There are countless versions of this classic by Robert Louis Stevenson. So, I’ve decided to dedicate the month of March to all things Jekyll and Hyde. I had originally planned to cram it all into one week. However, I decided to spread things out to make it easier to read (and write, to be honest, there is spring break coming up). Here’s the schedule. Dig through your collections and follow along. We’ll see horror legends like Christopher Lee and Boris Karloff, along with greats such as John Agar, Michael Rennie and Jack Palance.

Thursday March 7: The Silent Era (1912/1913/1920)
Saturday March 9: The 1931 version with Frederic March
Sunday March 10: The 1941 version with Spencer Tracy
Tuesday March 12: The second generation – Son of Dr. Jekyll (1951) and Daughter of Dr. Jekyll (1957) with John Agar
Thursday March 14: Hammer classic – The Two Faces of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1960) with Christopher Lee
Saturday March 16: Jack Palance in Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1968)
Tuesday March 26: More Hammer goodness – Dr. Jekyll and Sister Hyde (1971)
Thursday March 28: Michael Rennie in the 1955 Climax! television version
Saturday March 30: Boris Karloff in Abbott and Costello Meet Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1953)
